1,000 HP “Hell Dart” is the Most Sinister Hellcat Swap Yet!
We would argue that most car fans probably have at least a little bit of a soft spot for cars from decades ago. There’s just something so special about an old-school muscle machine that can really reach out and wake up the senses.
On the other hand, though, no matter how awesome these things might sound and look, it’s going to be pretty hard for classic technology to be able to keep up with what’s coming out these days.
With that in mind, a lot of mechanically inclined folks have taken it upon themselves to swap out this older technology with some of the newer techs that makes massive power and does so much more reliably.
What’s not to like about making more power, being more fuel-efficient, and not having to worry so much about making repairs to aging parts?
This time, we check in with an old-school Dodge Dart that has received a little bit of modern love. It seems like the person behind this one wanted it to look like it came straight from the factory. However, with lots of custom touches, the old-school machine has received the heart of a Hellcat. Not only that but the factory supercharged application has been combined with an aftermarket Magnuson supercharger which is a combination that’s good for 1000 hp.
Down in the video below from AutotopiaLA, we get the complete tour of this modern meets classic creation that is certainly going to turn a couple of heads whether it’s on the street or at a car show. We know we’d be peeking under the hood!
There’s just something that we can’t help but fall in love with when we hear that throttle crack open, letting that engine sing as it fires on all cylinders, and that supercharger belts out a whine for the ages!
