Racer Rushes To Help Opponent Shut Down Race Car After They Crash Together
When it comes to drag racing, when pair of drivers pull up to the line, there is no feeling quite like the level of competition when each competitor is trying to best the opposition. However, at the end of the day, we find it absolutely amazing how close-knit the racing community is as it seems as if everybody just wants to help one another. Competitors all want to be on their best possible game and many aren’t shy to help their opponents be on their best possible game as well.
This time, we check in with a couple of racers who ended up going on a pass down the strip where things didn’t exactly line up perfectly. One competitor, though, would get the opportunity to show his true colors and respect for his fellow racer in the heat of battle.
After pro nitrous racer, Billy Albert, launched from the line, it was a matter of the snap of one’s fingers before his car was absolutely sideways. Unfortunately, the car did end up colliding with the wall and doing a substantial amount of damage. As the car came gliding to a halt, it even started to go up in flames.
In the meantime, the other driver on the track, Freddy Scriba, also ended up getting sideways but didn’t hit anything. After Scriba’s car came to a rest, he didn’t hesitate to hop to action. Scriba put himself in harm’s way, running towards his opponent’s flaming car to shut the power off and help the driver get out of the vehicle.
At the end of the day, it’s an unfortunate situation but both drivers were able to walk away from the incident. We definitely have to commend Scriba for putting himself in harm’s way in order to do everything that he could to prevent this already bad situation from escalating to a new level.
