S650 Based “Mustang Raptor R” Comes to Life as the Off-Road Beast We’ve Been Dreaming Of

Over the past couple of years, the automotive community has seen some pretty strange undertakings come to life. One of those undertakings just so happens to be taking the most iconic muscle machine ever made in the Ford Mustang and turning it into an electric-powered SUV. In terms of controversial moves, this has to be the cream of the crop.

So if Ford can take the Mustang and turn it into an electric SUV, why can’t the Mustang be turned into other sorts of rides as well? If you ask artist, Oscar Vargas, who goes by wb.artist20 on Instagram, it can be!

Vargas has become popular for designing all of the cars that enthusiasts want but maybe brands aren’t quite willing to put them together. Take, for example, this Chevrolet muscle truck he designed that went viral a couple of weeks ago.

This time, the design process takes on the new Ford Mustang S650. The twist, this time, is that the freshly released Mustang borrows “Raptor R” trim from the Ford Raptor pickup truck.

In other words, what we have is a pretty ridiculous Shelby powered Mustang that finds itself lifted up and fitted with some pretty aggressive off-road tires. The concept is just wild enough to be able to take its place as one of Vargas’s most viral creations, if not his most viral creation, garnering over 1.2 million likes on Instagram.

When push comes to shove, even though some brands like Ford might be trying out new things all the time, I’m not sure that fans of the off-road-oriented Mustang rendering can expect to see something like this on dealership lots anytime soon. If anything, maybe a custom shop will take care of such a creation and make it come to life.

In any case, it’s still a lot of fun to see what’s possible with the help of an artist like this.
