Alex Laughlin All-In for World Series of Pro Mod ’24 Opener

As the calendar turns to March, the anticipation for racing season intensifies, with various series gearing up for action. Among those eagerly awaiting the thrill of competition is Speed Society’s own Alex Laughlin, poised to hit the dragstrip in 2024 with renewed determination.

The excitement kicks off this weekend at the fantastic Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, as Laughlin takes the wheel of a new ride for the racing year.

Taking to social media, Laughlin proclaims the arrival of the World Series of Pro Mod, signaling his return to the Pro Mod scene after last being behind the wheel of one of these cars in 2021. His enthusiasm is palpable as he expresses his eagerness to get back into the action, ready to make a strong start to the season.

The event officially commences on Friday, March 1, and promises adrenaline-fueled action through Sunday, March 3, at Bradenton Motorsports Park. With the lineup shaping up to deliver must-see racing, attending in person is highly recommended for those in the area. For those unable to attend, a live stream ensures that fans can catch every moment of the action from the Sunshine State.

In anticipation of the racing season, Laughlin also made a guest appearance on Drag Illustrated’s “The Racing Business” podcast. In the hour-long episode, he offers fans insights into his racing career and what lies ahead. Laughlin discusses his departure from Havoline and transition from Funny Car to Pro Mod, emphasizing his excitement for the opportunities ahead and the thrill of piloting a new ride.

Alex Laughlin, a wheelman with a near-record number of NHRA competition licenses, will be lining up against the “Mississippi Missile” Jason Scruggs. Scruggs raced Frankie Taylor last year at Rivals Night; now Frankie is tuning Laughlin’s car.

But that’s not all—Laughlin’s versatility shines this year as he ventures into new territory, recently seen behind the wheel of a rally car, showcasing his adaptability beyond straight-line racing.

Additionally, he’ll be taking on the Factory X class with “Blackbird X” this season, a venture that promises excitement after his record-breaking performance behind the wheel of the ProCharged machine last season.

The podcast below delves into Laughlin’s racing journey, his partnership with Hot Wheels, and more, offering fans a deeper understanding of the man behind the wheel and his myriad ventures on and off the track.
