Jeep Reveals an Almost 500HP, Two-Door Scrambler Pickup Truck
Imagine the incredibly popular Jeep Wrangler 392 fused together with the Jeep Gladiator and having an incredibly sporty baby. That’s essentially what we get out of the recently released two-door Jeep Scrambler pickup truck. Unfortunately, the model is just a concept, so we aren’t quite sure if it will make it to production or not, but I have to admit that I’m all the way in on this idea after seeing it in action.
Perched on a short wheelbase, this machine weighs 450 pounds less than a typical Jeep Wrangler. It’s also a two-door, two-seater with a pickup truck bed on the back. Under the hood, we find a familiar 6.4L V8 Hemi that’s good for almost 500 hp. The lightweight nature of the truck, means this two-door off-road machine is going to be a blast to hop behind the wheel of. The Wrangler was already popular in the off-road community due to its lightweight nature and the Scrambler seems to take things a step further.
The thing about this particular concept is that it seems to be purpose-built from top to bottom. There are a lot of custom components for off-roading and exaggerated components that albeit cool, probably wouldn’t make it to production. We just don’t see Jeep installing a 40-inch tall tire on something that they release to the public these days.
However, as is the case with many concepts, Jeep might pick and choose a couple of things here that make sense to actually deliver. In other words, while this exact rig might look a little bit like a Hot Wheels car come to life, as our host projects, a production version might be a tamed-down variation of such a machine.
Below, the crew over at TFLoffroad takes a moment to dive into this build to show off some of the adrenaline-pumping ideas that Jeep has been working with.
