Kye Kelley Puts it on the Bumper as Supra Wrecks in Front of Him in Australia
One of the wild things about drag racing is that you truly never know what’s going to happen. One moment, a pass might be going according to plan. Next, things can get bad in a hurry. While sometimes, the unpredictable nature of the sport can provide amazing moments like photo finishes, other times, it provides moments that we would all like to just forget about and put behind us.
The stakes are much higher with a no-prep race.
This time, we take a ride to the land down under as some of the Street Outlaws stars have traveled to Australia to put on a no-prep show. Unfortunately, for one of the Australian competitors, the day of racing at Calder Park didn’t exactly end well.
One of the tricky parts of no prep is that sometimes, without a sticky track surface, all of that power can quickly get away from drivers. In this particular case, that exact scenario unfolds which unfortunately means some serious damage for one of the Aussie racers.
When the car lines up next to Kye Kelley in his freshly built Shocker Camaro, things go awry after the driver of the Toyota Supra basically had the win in the bag. While Kelley struggled to get off of the line, sending the nose of his Camaro into the air and dragging its rear bumper on the racing surface in an epic but inefficient wheelie, the Supra hooked up and boogied down the track ahead of Kelley. However, while managing to get across the finish line first, the car would be unable to get out without sliding across its competitor’s lane and into the wall.
Down in the video below, YouTube uploader, Stavjet Auto, captured the moment that had fans on the edge of their seats, wondering what was coming next.
Hopefully, this unnamed competitor is able to pick back up the pieces and get back out there in the near future after a wreck that looked pretty intense.
