Kye Kelley Unveils New No Prep Kings Car and Engine for 2023
As we eagerly await the upcoming season of No Prep Kings, we can’t help but anticipate the adrenaline-pumping action that is about to unfold on the drag strip. As the 2023 season approaches, competitors had been patiently waiting for the release of the rulebook to determine what’s allowed. Now that the rules are out in the open, we can witness the exciting combinations in their final stages of evolution as they’ll be getting fine-tuned and prepared for battle.
One competitor who seems ready to roll is Kye Kelley, who is bringing an entirely new car to the competition this year. With top-tier competitors going head-to-head in different formats, many of them have chosen to have a specific race car built for each form of competition. This approach allows the team to focus on one set of rules at a time, eliminating the need to make numerous changes between events to a car that has been built to handle it all. The best way to maximize a car’s potential is to always have it on its A-game and constantly use any testing time to improve the setup.
Kelley, known for his third-generation Chevrolet Camaro, nicknamed “Shocker,” has become synonymous with the all-black third-gen Camaro. Despite going through various iterations, including a second version of the car, the all-black third gen remains Kelley’s signature ride.
However, in a surprising move, Kelley has decided to unveil an entirely new car that deviates from his usual choices. The new machine maintains the all-black look but departs from the Camaro body. This time, fans get to ride along with Kelley as he sees the new car for the first time ever after it has been under the knife for quite some time. The new ride is a huge move for Kelley and one that we’re eager to see in action on the track.
