Lamborghini Squares Off With Performance SUVs – Bronco Raptor vs G63 AMG vs Jeep Wrangler 392 vs Gallardo
If there’s one cause that we most certainly can get behind, it would be that of making vehicles fast that aren’t necessarily supposed to be.
This is a phenomenon that America has done on and off over the years as they have put together some pretty unique creations. Most recently, there seems to be a bit of a flareup in the world of high-performance pickup trucks. Notably, the Ram TRX came to the table a couple of years ago offering up over 700 hp to play with that really tickled the fancy of enthusiasts. This year, the Ford Raptor R attempts to go blow for blow with the TRX.
As it turns out, SUVs want to play and Europe is joining the fold, too.
This time, though, we check in with a segment that has flown a little bit under the radar in comparison to its flamboyant pickup truck counterpart. Instead of boasting a pickup truck bed to play with, these SUVs bring a different performance combination to the table that can haul the family and pick up the groceries as well.
Much like the aforementioned pickups, these SUVs also pack quite a punch and do so in a way that one might not expect. Absolutely nobody is going to expect a Jeep Wrangler to have a screaming V8 under the hood with plenty of power but if that’s your speed, Jeep has you covered.
In this particular experiment, the folks over at Hagerty put four fan-favorite SUVs head to head. The battle features the Ford Bronco Raptor, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, Jeep Wrangler 392, and Land Rover Defender V8. Oh yeah, perhaps the most interesting part here isn’t watching these performance SUVs go at one another but instead the fact that a wild card is thrown in the mix as a Lamborghini Gallardo steps to the plate to see if any of these SUVs dare try to take it down.
