The Apocalypse 6×6 is Unlike Any Truck We’ve Ever Seen
When you give a vehicle the name of “Apocalypse,” it better be something that could deliver in the case that the world faces such a situation as the truck’s namesake. While we don’t think that a “Mad Max” apocalypse scenario will be playing out anytime soon in the real world, it looks like this machine built from a Jeep Gladiator that goes by the name of “Apocalypse” is ready to take on just that cinematic scenario.
The truck and its creator joined in with Jay Leno for a recent episode of Jay Leno’s Garage where we got to learn a little bit more about this machine and what exactly makes it the brute that it is.
Most notably, the vehicle that started as a Gladiator has gotten the frame stretch treatment along with some custom body panels that allow room for an extra axle. From there, the 6×6 has power delivered to all six wheels. This power can come from a variety of different options depending on what the customer chooses. The options start out with a 3.0 L twin turbo diesel engine. Buyers can also get an LS3 engine as one might see in a Corvette or even a Hellcat powertrain. The gasoline-powered options are said to be the more popular of the bunch. In most examples, the power is backed up by an 8-speed automatic pulled from a Ram 3500 but we’re told that buyers can get a manual transmission if they prefer.
If you want get your hands on one of these bad boys, it’s going to end up costing a pretty penny. Pricing for the Apocalypse starts out around $150,000 and, depending on the options, can move up to $195,000 or so. For those who want something a little bit different, the company behind the model all also offers a similar concept that is based on the Ram TRX. To get into one of those, customers are looking at spending closer to $250,000.
