Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Causes Driver to Pass Out Mid-Race

With the engine located directly behind the driver in this Toyota MR2, a fun day at the race track turned horrifying and life-threatening in a snap of the fingers and all in the most silent of ways.

While the driver was out and about making a couple of laps, a leak in the engine compartment caused carbon monoxide to leak into the car’s cab, knocking the driver out cold.

When the medics arrived, the driver’s blood showed in the ballpark of 37% carbon monoxide contamination meaning that this guy was lucky to be alive after being passed out for several minutes. According to the driver, he remembers a couple of hallucinations, but after that he can’t even remember pulling the car off of the track.

Check out the events below as they unfold in front of our eyes and tell a real life horror story that we would never wish on anybody. Thankfully, this guy is ok! Hopefully, this doesn’t deter him from racing!
