Memphis Street Outlaws Driver Forces Second Race After Accusing Winner of Cheating
For those who have never raced on the street, it can be a quick-moving environment that’s kind of difficult to fully grasp at times. Let’s just say that in the context of street racing, just about everything can be a hustle. Sure, there are some competitors out there who are going to be honest and put their best foot forward. However, more often than not, when someone hears about a street race, they know that there’s going to be a little bit of slick maneuvering going on as each driver tries to gain whatever advantage they can over their opposition, whether the actions are disguised as being straightforward or not.
This time, we check in with a race that got a little bit heated after drivers disagreed upon the rules of the race following the race’s outcome.
Fans are probably familiar with Precious from Street Outlaws: Memphis and her Chevrolet Chevelle. However, with a newcomer in the next lane driving a Honda Civic, things certainly got mixed up a little bit. In the original negotiations, the driver of the Honda was trying to negotiate to be able to get to leave the line first. This is a common tactic when you think that maybe your car can’t keep up with the opposition or perhaps you’re just looking for an edge. However, from the opposite side of the negotiation, it appears as if Memphis was under the impression that the race was heads up and both drivers are to leave at the same time.
When the race comes around and Precious operates according to the idea of things being “heads up,” the team behind the Honda complains that they were supposed to leave first and that the rules weren’t followed. By following along with the video below from Discovery UK, we get to see exactly what happens when the Honda owner accuses the winner of the race of cheating.
