Ford Jumps Into the Factory Optioned Off-Road Goodies with ORV Packages at SEMA 2023
In the ever-evolving landscape of the automotive industry, manufacturers are increasingly focusing on enhancing their mass customization capabilities. This means that straight from the factory, consumers can expect vehicles that cater to their specific needs like never before. The prospect is very exciting as manufacturing is evolving in such a way that we can get all kinds of neat stuff straight off of the showroom floor.
Ford, in particular, has recently made its foray into the off-road market by unveiling a couple of intriguing concept vehicles, hinting at exciting off-road options on the horizon. In a recent episode of TFLNow, the team explores the 2023 SEMA Show to catch a glimpse of some 2024 concepts that may soon become a reality.
One of the standout vehicles showcased is a 2024 Ford Ranger. Unlike the typical Ranger, this truck comes equipped with a Ford Performance Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) package. This package offers a wide array of off-road enhancements, including rugged bumpers, skid plates, advanced suspension, and various other equipment, elevating the pickup truck’s off-road capabilities. This move aligns with the trend seen in the automotive industry, as exemplified by GM’s Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison, which incorporates equipment from American Expedition Vehicles. It kind of feels like enthusiasts might be able to pick and choose from these different options in the near future.
The display also features a Ford Bronco, similarly sporting the ORV package, alongside other vehicles that tease the possibilities within these platforms. We’ve come a long way from the days when consumers had to purchase a factory-standard vehicle and then invest time and effort into modifying it to meet their preferences. It appears we are entering an era where customers can obtain precisely the vehicle they desire without the need for aftermarket modifications, putting customization and personalization at the forefront of the automotive experience.
