Daddy Dave blows his motor and wins in this Street Outlaws Flashabck!
Throughout his Street Outlaws tenure, Daddy Dave has never made it a secret that he will do what it takes to get the win on the Oklahoma City streets. More than once, Dave pushed the nitrous-fed Sonoma beyond the breaking point to keep it out in front of the competition, often resulting in some spectacular fireworks from the carnage happening under the hood.
In this throwback clip, Dave is lined up with California-based Crazy Kelly’s 1957 Chevy for round one of the annual Cash Days race. Daddy Dave does what he usually does, leaving Kelly a couple of cars behind off the line and is cruising to an easy win when things turn sour. The Sonoma’s powerplant decided it wasn’t happy with the cubic feet of nitrous being unleashed in the intake and the resulting destruction unleashed an impressive shower of sparks into Kelly’s lane. Luckily for Dave, he was far enough out front and still crossed the stripe first by quite a bit.
Since this was the first round, Dave and crew actually had time to patch up the engine in the Sonoma and return to compete in round two the following weekend, showing just what can be accomplished by a dedicated, skilled crew with the prize money and bragging rights from Cash Days on the line.
