[HOONIGAN] SPECIAL: Mt. Washington Hillclimb Hoonigans Wanted
Sara Price earned the opportunity to take the Hoonigan Fiat 124 Rally to the Climb to the Clouds, America’s oldest hill climb event, by beating out all of the other badass chicks in the #HoonigansWanted competition, and it’s time to see how she does piloting the sporty little coupe up Mt. Washington.
The team arrives on Day 1 to do some testing on the upper portion of the course, where Sara finishes the day with a 3rd best time in her class. She went back to the cabin and did some homework, looking for areas to improve on her line when race day arrived. The next day was for testing again, this time on the lower section of the course. Once again Sara laid down a solid time, but felt there was a little room for improvement, so back to the tape she went, studying until late into the night to try to plan the best line up the wicked 7.4 mile course.
Finally, the day of reckoning arrives and Sara is ready to take her shot, despite only getting a few short hours of sleep. The Hoonigan Fiat was outfitted with a host of cameras showing all different angles, as well as having some setup along the route to capture Price as she blitzed the course. As expected, she laid down a smooth, fast run that she made look effortless despite covering the course at dizzying speeds.
The car had a minor mechanical issue near the end of the course the caused the computer to go into limp mode due to the water temperature climbing above the acceptable range, cutting power and causing the car to slow considerably. However, despite that issue, Sara still managed a sixth place finish, an awesome job considering this was her first shot at Mt. Washington. Look for much more from this badass young lady, who certainly earned herself the title of Hoonigan!
