How Much Does it Cost to Repair a Smashed Up Demon?
I think that it goes without saying that, when racing at the drag strip, the worst fear for pretty much any racer is that they’re going to put their car into a wall. Sure, cars might have differing degrees of monetary value, however, nobody wants to lose their pride and joy if it’s worth $5,000 or $500,000.
This time, however, we check in with the owner of one of the cars that kind of weighs in with a heavy price tag in a Dodge Demon and he takes us through his experience of recovering from the incident that had the car sent into a wall in a situation that did a pretty good amount of damage to the machine.
Now, thankfully, in what’s always the most important part of a situation like this, the driver, YouTuber, SRT Mush, ended up being okay, however, after all the pieces were picked up and he made his way back home, there would still be quite the problem on his plate to figure out. With a lack of assistance from his insurance company who probably told him to kick rocks if he even asked them for help, as they generally don’t cover off-road accidents like this, it would be on his shoulders to go out there and seek out the best possible method to repair the car.
If you follow along with the video below, he tells us a little bit about the experience along with how the retail cost for the body panels and other exterior parts that need replaced dials in at just over $11,000, not considering labor or even making sure that they’re all paint matched. I don’t care who you are, a repair bill like that is something that you’re going to be feeling in the morning. I guess that, at the end of the day, when it comes to racing in any capacity it’s really a situation of having to pay to play. Some of those payments just suck a lot more than others.
