We’ve all seen impressive SUVs ripping down the track. There’s almost nothing better than a truck that you’d expect to be a dud ripping down the 1320 in spectacular fashion all while putting a variety of cars to shame.  In this case we see a GMC Typhoon, the SUV version of the GMC Cyclone, which is pretty damn rare to start with as this truck was only made from 1992-1993 and only 4,697 were ever made. From what we see, the truck retains the original 4.3 liter V-6 turbo.

Obviously this particular Typhoon had some additional modifications to help it as this Typhoon runs an impressive 10.76 @127mph and looks as if it left off prior to crossing the finish line. A stock GMC Typhoon was capable of a 14.1 second 1/4 mile and a 5.3 second 0 -60mph run.  By today’s numbers the stock figures are not that impressive, but consider that the 1992 Chevrolet Corvette went 0 – 60 in 5.7 seconds and puled off the 1/4 mile in 14.1 also, this was an awesome feat from an SUV.

In addition, it may be among the cleanest Typhoons we’ve ever seen.  We’re more than willing to bet that this thing has 9s in it when combined with a better density altitude and maybe some stickier tires.  Watch the action below.
