Leah Pritchett Qualifies number 1 at NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston, Texas, John Force fails to qualify
Defending Champion of the Spring Nats, Leah Pritchett and her Don Schumacher racing team took the number 1 qualifying spot today at the Spring Nationals in Houston, Texas. 3.68 @ 326 MPH was good enough for the number 1 spot this weekend, the only car to make a pass in the 3.6x zone in fact. 326 MPH was also good enough for the fastest pass for a top fuel car so far this weekend.
Our other Don Schumacher racing driver, and Pritchett’s teammate Antron Brown also qualified in the top half of the field with a 3.74 @ 324.98 MPH, good enough for the 5th position, and 2nd fastest pass for a top fuel car. No other team has gone over 320+ MPH so far this weekend in Top Fuel
Our good friend Clay Millican is back in his signature Great Clips colors rocketing to a very good 3.746 @ 315.78 MPH
Pritchett will race Terry Brian first round the number 16 qualifier, while Antron Brown will race fan favorite Terry Mcmillen, Millican will race Mike Salinas first round
Our guy Jonnie Lindberg had a solid qualifying outing in his Ford Mustang funny car, qualifying in the 8th position with a 3.92 @316.52 MPH, Lindberg will race Bob Tasca III first round of eliminations
Veteran racer, and former Champion Ron Capps qualified 14th with a 4.077 @305.77 MPH, Capps will race teammate Matt Hagan first round of eliminations
While the King of funny car John Force continues to struggle in 2018, not making the field for the first time since 2008!
Meanwhile over in the pro stock ranks our guy Alex Laughlin took his Hot Wheels Car care Chevrolet Camaro to the 9th position with a 6.53 @211.33 MPH, Alex will race Deric Kramer first round of eliminations tomorrow
