Motorcity Jimbo VS Fade 2 Black Ends With Big Bang
While most of the racing world descended on frigid Indianapolis fo the PRI show last weekend, a herd of grudge races headed south to Orlando Speed World for the last major grudge race of the season, No Guts No Glory. This event had a ton of locked-in races lined up, including some between the biggest names in the no time game. You even had guys from Detroit lined up racing each other in Florida, proving just how big a draw this event is.
One of the showcase races was Motor City Jimbo lining up side by side with fellow Team North hitter Fade 2 Black in a battle of big-inch nitrous badasses, both of whom made the long trek from the chilly north to sunny Orlando. With a huge stack of cash on the line, both of these camps were looking to make a move to bring home the money.
You can see after their burnouts and careful staging procedures, both cars leave hard and when they pass the first camera, around the 300’ mark on the track, Fade 2 Black has a pretty big lead on Jimbo and appears to be headed to a big time payday.
However, as the cars near the finish line, Jimbo begins to pull alongside, and just at the stripe, disaster strikes the Fade 2 Black G-Body when the engine backfires through the intake and falls silent, allowing Jimbo to drive around quite literally at the very last possible second to take the win.
You can see from the finish line cam that this race was decided in the last 30’ feet of race track and that Jimbo took the win by maybe a fender, proving just how closely matched these cars truly are. Would F2B have had enough to hold off that top end charge from Jimbo if his engine didn’t come apart? I say probably so, but that’s why we race on the track and no on paper!
As a little side note, Justin Malcom is the man! I’m here to tell y’all right now, this man and his JMalcom2004 channel is changing the game when it comes to capturing all the action in the grudge world. Just a couple of years ago, I know I personally hadn’t heard of Justin, and now he is the go-to videographer for any footage from a no-time event. Thanks, as always, Justin, and keep up the good work!
