Murder Nova vs Big Block Killa Vette at Memphis Street Outlaws No Prep
You may have noticed a movement on Street Outlaws pushing the action toward the track with several episodes from this season showing the huge no prep-style events from Bristol and Thunder Valley Raceways. There are a few reasons we can think of to make that move, but we haven’t heard anything official as far as motivation, so we’ll leave the speculation to the internet, where there is more than enough to go around.
For now, we have some footage of the new Murder Nova in action at the on-track event held a few months back at Memphis International Raceway in Millington, TN, taking on a car that looks to be a formidable opponent, especially with the seemingly-psychic reaction time skills he shows when the green light drops. The driver of the other car, knowns as Big Block Killa, absolutely drilled Shawn on the tree and likely would have held on for the win with such a massive holeshot but the driver was forced to roll out of the throttle when the car made a move toward the centerline when the nose was high in the air just off the starting line.
In the other lane, Shawn wasn’t exactly late in comparison to the tree, he was just way behind the other car. However, the twin turbo small block under the hood of the new car was tuned up and the tires bit hard on the questionable surface, sending him down the track like he was shot out of a slingshot and right around the slowing ZR1 style Corvette to turn on the win light. I would personally love to see a rematch of this race between these two with the Big Block Killa getting the same holeshot to see if Shawn and the Murder Nova have enough steam to reel him in and drive around for the win with both cars going A-to-B. Maybe somewhere down the road these two will tangle again and we can see if the BBK can put the whoop on Shawn out of the gate like that again, then we’ll know if it was luck or if he’s some kind of savant.
