Richard Rawlings Takes The Havoline Truck For a Test Drive!
Gas Monkey Garage build a clean little ’49 Chevrolet pickup truck, giving the antique hauler a full frame-off restoration, a fresh drivetrain and some key modern upgrades, most notably the air ride suspension. When it was completed, the truck was purchased by Havoline with the purpose of giving it away to a lucky recipient as part of their Bad to the Chrome contest.
GMG’s Richard Rawlings takes us for a ride around Hot Rod Alley, Dallas’ custom car shop central where many of the most recognizable cars in the country are designed and built. Along the way, Rawlings fills us in on some of Gas Monkey Garage’s history, taking us on a tour of where they came from while building their resume and experience before becoming the household name they are today. Richard points out the Fired Up Garage, home of Misfit Garage, as well as the shop of Gas Monkey’s interior upholstery, Sue, who many Fast ‘n Loud fans will recognize.
Winding down the tour, Rawlings heads back toward GMG, but not before opening up the clean cruiser and letting her eat a little asphalt, and stopping to do a quick burnout for the cameras! Unfortunately the winner has already been chosen, but look out for more giveaways from the Gas Monkeys and their clients in the future.
