SECRETS Flight Attendants Don’t Want Passengers To Know
To many, flight attendants are nothing more than waitresses in the sky, trolling the aisles while we fly about the country, asking what snack we and and what we’d like to drink. However, what most of us fail to see is what else is going on behind the scenes that keeps the stewards and stewardesses busy, although they generally manage to keep a calm, pleasant demeanor. This video takes a look at what all is going on, whether we see it or not.
The first item on the list is a big one, because it debunks the notion that airlines serve the cheapest, lowest quality food possible to cut overhead. The reason the food tastes so bad is due to the extremely low humidity inside the cabin, which effects both our taste buds and our sense of smell, which is obviously going to effect the taste of our food.
The video also addresses some less-common situations that do arise from time to time, like the fact that there could be a casket riding right beside your suitcase in the cargo hold, or that if a passenger dies, sometimes they just leave them in their seat until they reach their destination. Don’t put too much confidence in that lock on the lavatory door, it doesn’t actually lock. Although it may slide over and give you that feeling of security, all the flight attendants have to do is slide it back from the outside to open the door. There’s also some good info about germs and cleanliness. Spoiler alert: planes aren’t all that clean.
There’s also some great safety info, as well as procedural information that’s just cool to know. Finally, they discuss the benefits of first class, and the one glaring drawback that hopefully none of us ever find out about. Go ahead and recline your seat and hit that play button, there’s some great info in the video below.
