The Last Footage of Street Outlaws Shane and Bob Before The Big Crash!
Shane and his awesome ProCharged Vega known as the Blackbird have been a constant presence on Street Outlaws for several seasons now. Shane’s reached as high as #4 on the list and the car is consistently quick, meaning if he lines up with any of the quicker cars on the show and they make so much as one small mistake, Shane will be right beside them to make them pay dearly.
A couple of weekends ago at Outlaw Armageddon 3, Shane brought out the Vega for what would ultimately be it’s last complete event. The video below shows a couple of solid passes at Thunder Valley Raceway Park and a nice close-up walk around video of the car in the pits. However, as most of you have heard by now, the Vega was heavily damaged in a crash at Discovery Channel’s $100,000-to-win race at the other Thunder Valley in Bristol, Tennessee. We haven’t heard yet if the car will be repairable or if it will have to be scrapped, but hopefully, Shane can rebuild the car and get it back on the streets soon.
You can see in this footage from Outlaw Armageddon just how well the car works. With a ton of ProCharger-fed power on tap, the car still plants the tire, even on the unprepped surface in the Oklahoma sunshine, and digs hard, while many of the other cars that were there struggled with traction issues throughout the weekend. This is one of the reasons we hope Shane is able to put the car back together, as he seems to have really gotten this one dialed in. In the first race, Shane was a little late on the line and still drove around his opponent easily. In the second race, Shane and the Headhunter Nova leave together, with the nitrous car pulling out to a small lead before Shane drive around him to take the win. We’re glad Shane wasn’t hurt in the crash and hope to see him back out there soon!
