Twin Turbo LSX powered Saturn Sky shocks some GT-Rs on the streets
There are some cars out there that are fast and people expect them to be fast. Let’s be honest, while a Nissan GT-R is a cool ride, it isn’t really going to surprise anyone if it rolls out in a hurry and dominates on the streets.
However, if you get your hands on the likes of the small sports roadster known as the Saturn Sky, Not too many people are really going to expect much out of it. It’s not a knock on the car at all, it’s just the way that things are.
Sure, the Sky was a neat little drop top for the time that it was produced, but the small and lackluster displacement under the hood leaves it at nothing more than a sporty little ride that might be fun to throw in some corners and nothing more or less.
However, when the original power plant is replaced with a boosted LS7 through the means of a set of twin turbos, the game changes just a little bit.
This time, we check it out a little bit of street racing action as this setup is put to the test and manages to manhandle not only a couple of respectfully modded GT-Rs, but also a Cadillac CTS-V as well.
When you get right down to the nuts and bolts, it’s basically like taking what is arguably the best engine ever found in a Corvette and slapping it in a go-kart chassis and pairing it with boost. Talk about a sleeper!
