Why Do High HP Hondas Always Blow Up?
When you get under the hood of a car and start a wrench on it, making it go beyond what it was originally intended to do, odds are that you’re going to have some struggles here and there. One of the key components to building a hot rod of any sort, whether it be a traditional form of hot rod or something like a beefed-up Honda Civic with a big turbo on it, is that you’re going to go through the build, step-by-step, and try to find those weak points that you can replace and beef up with better parts. However, with that in mind, you do see certain vehicles that end up erupting more than others.
In this one, we hear the tale that revolves around a certain blue Honda Civic, one that boasts a pretty stout turbo setup and, as we hear about in this story, even manages to win races while spinning tires on the front wheel drive platform. However, as it turns out, after being beefed up with all these performance parts, the car doesn’t end up being as reliable as the owner probably would have liked. This time, in particular, we learn about the situation where the car went out to race and on the incredibly long drive home, ended up stranding its owner and his friends on the side of the road.
Follow along down in the video below that will tell you the backstory of this Honda and exactly how it ended up rising and falling in the cycle that so many of us who build performance machines are used to experiencing. After listening in to this tale of racing, hot rodding, and a little bit of drama thrown into the mix, be sure to tell us what you think of how it all unfolded and if you can relate to this particular story.
