2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition (Vin 001) sells for $2.5 MILLION at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale!
With the scope of cars that comes across the auction block at Barrett-Jackson, one can never be all that sure about what’s coming next. Some of the cars might be similar to what can be seen at a local cars and coffee show but others, well, they might be machines that simply are among the untouchables. These are machines that some folks are going to stow away into a private collection, only to see the streets on sunny days. Some of these cars could even be submitted to museums with an entrance fee charged to even be in the same room as such machines. This unpredictability he what really keeps us glued to the screen every time that the auction comes around.
This time, with a car that really seems to steal the show at the 2019 Scottsdale auction, we get to take a glimpse at a 2019 Ford GT. Obviously, this isn’t just any GT but instead the very first produced for the 2019 year, boasting that 001 VIN number that is sure to add substantial value. In turn, unlike other cars of the same model, this particular GT is allowed to be sold. We’ve heard of some contract disputes over the past year or so as owners have agreed to not sell their cars until two years after putting their name on the dotted line but no such restriction is included with this machine.
The auction really soared up quite quickly, sprinting to the $1.5 million mark before hurrying to the $2 million mark as well. The Heritage Edition GT that is designed to give tribute to the car that that won LeMans back in 1968 and 1969 would eventually climb up to $2.5 million, the proceeds of which were all given to the United Way of Southeast Michigan, an organization designed to serve the people who do not have the means to support basic needs of living. Long story short, this is a scenario that is simply filled with awesome.
