Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign Selling for $1.2m – Is it Worth it?

There isn’t much arguing that the Nissan GT-R is the crème de la crème of performance automobiles. By taking a look at what these things are capable right out of the box and furthermore, what they’re able to do once modified, it’s hard to find a car to compete with such a machine. However, some folks have a vision of the car that might be a little bit different than what Nissan had originally intended. One of these companies goes by the name of Italdesign.

Seems like it’s been quite some time since Nissan has done a full revitalization effort on the GT-R. In fact, the R35 has been in production for 12 years strong. I guess that the theory here is that if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. However, when Italdesign got their hands on the latest Nismo car, they changed a little bit of everything. The idea here was to implement what they call “European-style sensibility.” By taking one look around the car, aesthetically, pretty much every single panel is different than the way that the factory made it. Italdesign says that some of the key design features include factors like ” a more pronounced power bulge on the hood, lowered roofline, and prominent “samurai blade” cooling outlets behind the front wheels.

Furthermore, they continued under the hood, changing up some components that Nissan put in place to help the car to produce 710hp/575tq. This comes along with a revised suspension by Bilstein and upgraded Brembo braking package.

By following along with the video below, YouTube user, Shmee150, gives us the entire rundown of what to expect from the Italdesign Nissan GT-R50. After checking out this one for yourselves, be sure to tell us what you think of this creative rendition of GT-R. Keep in mind, it’s the only prototype. After a press tour, the car is supposed to become available to the public for $1.2 million to the tune of 50 units tops.
