Dad Builds Son Fighter Jet Halloween Costume For Wheelchair
Let’s just say that, when it comes to Halloween, some can get a little bit more creative than others. When someone truly invests a lot of effort, it will show. Some costumes are even good enough to go viral and find millions of eyes across the web. If you ask us, 15-year-old Tommy’s costume this year certainly deserves some praise. We have to admit that we can’t get enough of these costumes with a serious amount of effort invested.
Tommy is living cerebral palsy and has to use a wheelchair. However, with a little bit of help from dad, he might have one of the coolest costumes of the year. One of our favorite parts is that it comes with a little inspiration from the family’s way of life. Both of Tommy’s grandparents were in the military and as such, Tommy’s costume pays homage to that.
It took about 100 hours of work in the garage. Before long, though, the SR-71 Blackbird would begin to take shape. The shell would be a costume that could be slid over Tommy’s wheelchair to make it appear as if he is sitting in the cockpit. We think it’s incredible as Tommy becomes the star of the show with his very own fighter jet. Dad put in a lot of work so that Tommy would feel like a kid on Halloween and it’s certainly paying off!
This isn’t Tommy’s first costume designed around his wheelchair, either. In previous years, dad hooked him up with an X-Wing from Star Wars, a Game of Thrones dragon, and even a police car. When all is said and done, we would be inclined to think that dad has weeks of time invested in these costumes. By taking a look at them, though, we would be so inclined to think that it’s more than worth it.
