Hilarious 1980s Safety Video is a Laugh on Wheels – “Shake Hands With Danger”
As time goes on, things change in almost every way imaginable. One area where we have gotten better across the board is that of safety. Whether it’s driving down the street in our cars or working on a construction site, safety has really been a focus. Back in the old days, perhaps, it wasn’t as much of a focus or maybe it was taken a little bit more lightly.
These days, with the sue-happy nature of, well, just about everybody, different companies need to watch out for their well-being. This means that they’re going to invest a lot more in making sure that their workers are safe. Of course, they care about the safety of their people, as well, right?
This time, we take a ride back to some sweet nostalgia. It’s hard to believe that the year 1980 was almost 40 years ago at this point. However, we’re grateful to relive the old school stylings of some of the content from the time. This time, we get to check out a video straight from the Caterpillar archives. Apparently, this overacted video was the heavy equipment manufacturer’s way of informing its workers on how to be safe. At that time, perhaps it was something that they took seriously. These days, though, it almost seems like something out of a comedy routine.
Personally, when I started watching this video, I thought that I would nod off after about 30 seconds or so. However, when all was said and done, I found myself watching it almost all the way to the end. We’re not sure how but this one just keeps on getting better. We promise that this is some of the most shareable content that you will see all day! Some of these situations are just so off-the-wall that we can’t help but laugh!
