Motorcity Jimbo Hits No Mercy 9 On 28’s
While Radial vs the World will always be the headlining class at Duck X Production’s events, the Extreme No Time Shootout has quickly built a massive following among fans attending the small tire extravaganzas.
With the clocks off, the focus in on the action itself, something that took a little getting used to for fans who are used to looking at the scoreboard for huge numbers before the cars even cross the finish line. But with huge egos, over the top personalities, and insane action on the track, the fans took a liking to the class and have quickly adopted it as one of their favorites.
When you have cars like the badass stark-white Camaro of James Miron, known to most as Motor City Jimbo, taking on some of the biggest names in no time racing, you can see why the class has become so popular. As part of Team North, Jimbo made the long haul from Michigan to South Georgia to take part in the Extreme No Time Shootout at No Mercy 9, and lined up a few grudge races with some of the heaviest hitters from Team South while he was in town.
First up, Jimbo put it in the beams beside one of the South’s most feared drivers, Justin “Little Country” Swanstrom. Swanstrom was still sorting out a brand new ride, a Pro Mod-style Camaro, and struck the tires early, giving Jimbo an easy win, although he made a solid pass that would have put Little Country to the test even if he’d made the trip without losing traction.
Next up, a pair of races with another of Team South’s heavy hitters, Scotty “Scotty G” Guadagno’s Camaro. These two split a pair of races, the first being a GREAT side-by-side race with Jimbo barely taking the win and the second going Scotty G’s way after Miron nearly smacked the wall right off the line.
North vs South is one of the great rivalries in the grudge game and with cars and races like this, it’s easy to see why!
