RARE Custom Built 1950 Chevrolet Double Cab Pickup Truck
We try not to show bias but we definitely have to admit that old school pickup trucks are some of our favorite. Sure, the technology found in newer trucks is pretty awesome. Who doesn’t want to have their back cooled while they blast their favorite tunes through the stereo? There’s just something about old school design that really draws us in and keeps us coming back. The 50s is especially good for this. The architectural trend in this decade seems to be big swooping curves that are as bold as they are pleasing.
This time, we check out a 1950 Chevrolet pickup truck that might look somewhat familiar but not too familiar. In fact, when many look at this truck, they might be thrown off a littl bit. That phenomenon comes to life because this truck is most certainly all sorts of custom! They didn’t just slap some wheels on it and a suspension before calling it a day. Instead, the very bones of this truck have been altered in order to make it something special.
Chevrolet didn’t produce the crew cab until 1957 and the first extended or double cab didn’t come along until the 70s for any manufacturer. Said double cab also had two full doors up front and partial doors in the back.
What we see here appears as if it might just be the size of a crew cab. However, what we do notice, in addition to the fact that Chevrolet only offered a single cab, is that there are no rear doors here! This is certainly a truck that serves as quite the conversation piece as the extended cab is completely sealed off.
By following along with the video below, we’re able to check out the truck inside and out. Is this custom creation something that we will see catch on?
