Ryan Reynolds Gets Interrupted By Crash While Talking About Working With Michael Bay
Ryan Reynolds is well known as one of the funniest actors in Hollywood. The man behind Deadpool’s hilarious character, as well as countless other roles, Reynold’s dry delivery and perfect timing make him a hot commodity in the industry. I’m certain it has very little to do with his mediocre looks and is all about his acting chops and humor.
In this video below, which I’m going to guess was recorded during the filming of The Hitman’s Bodyguard, a hilarious action/comedy Reynolds made with fellow veteran actor Samuel L Jackson, catches Reynolds answering interview questions during what seems to be a quiet moment on set. However, if you know anything about the director mentioned in the question, Michael Bay, you know there are very few quiet moments in his films.
As Reynolds sarcastically delivers his “answer” to the question, things go from relatively tranquil to explosive, quite literally, in the blink of an eye. The film’s action was anchored by an intense vehicle chase through Amsterdam that featured many crashes, impacts and explosions, in true Bay fashion. Just yards behind Reynolds, we see one of those crashes as it’s being filmed in real time.
Of course, Bay and over the top stunts go hand in hand, so this isn’t just your run of the mill fender bender. There are pyrotechnics and multiple vehicles, one of which goes flying through the air. Reynolds, however, doesn’t miss a beat, hardly even flinching at the sound of the chaos behind him and continuing to answer the question like the pro that he is.
If you haven’t seen The Hitman’s Bodyguard, I suggest you check it out, it’s a solid action shooter with some excellent comedic elements thanks to Reynolds and Jackson’s banter. I thoroughly enjoyed it, enough to have watched it 3 or 4 times now.
