The New Murder Nova Getting Loaded up and Headed Home!

In a small detached two-car garage in rural Alabama lies the shop of one of the most capable minds to ever turn a wrench on a race car. Travis Quillen has been a secret weapon behind the creation of many cars you’ve likely seen, though other than his unassuming QME decals, Travis gets little in the way of thanks for his expertise, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

In that unassuming shop where the unassuming man does his work, some of the most incredible ideas in the industry are conceived, planned and executed. As you can see, one of Quillen’s latest customers is Shawn Ellington and his new Murder Nova. Sporting a twin-turbocharged ProLine small block that’s tucked neatly in the Don Dial Race Cars-build chassis and featuring some of the trickest details you’ll ever find on a race car, the second iteration of the Murder Nova is destined to break hearts and drain bank accounts as the rest of the 405 scrambles to keep up.

With this garage just a few minutes up the road, I’ve had the opportunity to visit Travis’ shop a couple of times while the car was there and I can say confidently that this is one of the most well-thought-out and precisely-executed builds I’ve ever seen in person. When this car hits the streets of Oklahoma City, expect it to make waves and waste little time in reaching #1 of the Top 10 list.
