Turbocharged Powerplant Makes 5300 Horsepower on Engine Dyno
In the world of performance, there are all kinds of different builds for different kinds of applications. Sure, some ride around with tame applications, leaning toward the mild side, then there are some who even decide to kick it up a notch to have quick machines with a little bit of bite behind them but then there are others who go to a completely new level, blowing the cap off of the whole operation with an engine and boost setup that could spin the Earth off of its axis!
This time, we hit the dyno room over at Moran Racing Engines as they show off an application that most certainly falls into that third category. This monster has a pair of 106mm Garrett turbos strapped up to it and to put it likely, the engine really makes its presence felt, sucking all of the air out of the room as it roars its way up to over 5300 horsepower while spooling up some massive boost in the process.
Even by today’s incredibly high standards, a motor like this will turn heads just about everywhere that it goes no matter what abuse it’s being put up against. When it comes time to really get down to business, this thing will back up all that bark as well with plenty of bite to match, as long as the car sitting beneath it is ready to lay all that impact to the ground. There’s really nothing like the sound of massive amounts of power pouring out with a little bit of boost to push it along. That turbo whistle is nothing short of spine-chilling to listen to!
Check out the video demonstration from the dyno room below to really show you what this thing has got as it cranks up the heat a little bit to get to quite a desirable power range. After you check out this engine that’s pure music to the ears, be sure to tell us what you think of the output by this monster.
