What are the Differences Between the Raptor and Raptor R?
For those who are fans of high-performance pickup trucks, it’s definitely an exciting time to be alive. It seems as if horsepower wars are very much alive and well as Ford and Ram go back and forth with their high-performance offerings. A couple of years ago, Ram brought a 702 hp supercharged Raptor rival to the table which encouraged Ford to snap out of its twin-turbo V6 daze and offer a supercharged V8 as well.
However, it took a little bit of time for Ford to get the gears going but that time has passed and now the time is here to see just how awesome the Ford F-150 Raptor R actually is.
This time, our host at The Fast Lane Truck gives us the full rundown of what to expect from each truck. Even though this new Raptor is up for grabs, Ford still offers up the twin-turbo V6 alternative for those who might not want to spend the extra coin for all of the extra power.
Just how different is the truck that features a twin-turbo V6 versus the supercharged V8 Raptor R?
Below, we check in with the video that goes through everything from subtle differences in appearance to the trucks’ suspension and even the interior. Last but not least, we get to see a little bit of a performance test to witness just how different both of these trucks are when it comes to something like 0 to 60 times.
At the end of the day, I don’t think that one could go wrong with either one of these 2023 model-year pickups as they are both incredibly well-put-together machines. However, at the end of the day, there can only be one top dog. The Raptor R obviously takes that title in the Ford camp but it also makes a strong case for taking the overall title in the pickup truck world as a whole.
