Onboard Security Camera Shows Failed Armored Car Heist
As they say, art imitates life. Now, we’re sure that all of those Hollywood heist movies make a point of spicing up all of the details. After all, real-life could never be as interesting as movies. However, somewhere in the world, something similar to the plotline of your favorite heist movie has probably unfolded at one point or another.
On April 22, 2001, a wild chase would unfold in South Africa In which the action system seemed to rival that a movie. However, instead of integrating special effects in the mix, this wild situation wasn’t created on a movie set. Instead, a group of men tried to rob a vehicle, firing their weapons at the armored van in the process. The result might make your pulse rise, even from the safe side of the screen!
The van in question wasn’t said to be carrying cash but instead valuable items. Upon the first shots, the driver jumped to action, doing whatever he could to evade the tail. Multiple shots did make contact with the vehicle, destroying the glass in the process. Luckily, though, this armored glass was enough to hold out the rounds as the occupants attempted to make it to safety. Neither of the occupants appears to have suffered any injuries during the incident.

The footage does cut off just a few seconds after the armored vehicle gets stuck and both of the occupants make their way out. However, it would appear as if the occupants exited the vehicle safely in the process. Their body language would also seem to insist that the ones chasing them had since chosen to give up on the pursuit.
In any case, this is probably the most intense day at work that either one of these gentlemen had gone through up until that point!
